Fantastic progression fantasy i couldn't put down.

Marathoned 300 pages in one day.

It's a groundhogs day story in an urban fantasy world. Only what if the main character was the third time traveler in this loop who has to play catch up to the other two without getting caught?

Zorian needs to get the right skills. Find out more about the loop and the other travelers while discovering how he got here in the first place.

Other than that though the story is fairly slow paced and most of the time is spent learning more about Zorian and the people in his life. Along with the world and Zorians own limitations. (magical and otherwise)

Fantastic world and plot. Would recommend to any fan of urban fantasy and time loop stories.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this book/series ends up being my #1 the entire year! This book surpassed all my expectations for it and then some. It was filled with action, time travel, magic, a well developed fantasy world, and a protagonist that has great character development and sometimes questionable morals. I loved it.

Plot: 5/5. Zorian is your average 15 year old - easily annoyed by his mom and sister, awkward, and just wants to be left alone. At the same time he’s not average since he is also a 3rd year student at Cyoria’s Magical Academy. Through a series of unexpected events, Zorian becomes entangled in a time loop, which he decides to take full advantage of to work on his magic. After all, repetition is the mother of learning. There’s twists, high stakes, and a creative world that did not disappoint.

World Building: 5/5. The reader is thrown into a new fantasy world with a magical system. We learn about the world from Zorian on his adventures. I felt like it was a creative way to explore the world even if I had to be patient to get some of my questions about the world answered in later chapters. I found it to be well thought out and not a hard world to dive into.

Pacing: 5/5. This book is medium to fast paced. I personally did not want to put it down. It’s a good mix of plot and character driven. It follows the perspective of one main protagonist, Zorian, through his travels.

Character Development: 5/5. Zorian has both likable and not-so-likable moments. As a teenage boy he can be hasty and make arrogant decisions. He also can be thoughtful and sweet. I thought his character was really well done and enjoyed the progression he makes thoughout this book. We learn of other characters through his lens, which I enjoyed - especially as the book progressed.

Overall Rating: 5/5. It’s very rare I rate a book so highly. This 5 star rating was well deserved. As a note, this arc is chapters 1-26 and does end on a cliff hanger. I can’t wait to keep reading!

Mood: time travel, magic, fantasy

TW: explicit language (not a lot but the occasional f), death, violence, mentions of alcohol briefly

The first 4 chapters are so painful.
After that it picks up.

fun read! a little lengthy at times but it has all the good anime tropes and i can just stand behind that - giving it four stars because this used to be a webnovel that someone just wrote for fun for free on the internet and for that it's just. really nice

will def read the next parts but not right now because my brain needs to digest some of the more excessive worldbuilding and whatnot
