You'd think a groundhog day plot would get repetitive but this book had really good pacing and kept me hooked the whole way through.

Also wizard school is always fun

A very solid start to the series and a fun twist on the time loop trope. Despite the iterations, each time loop was distinct and interesting. MoL has some unique twists that makes the story compelling to follow. The writing is easy to read - not particularly beautiful but also carefully crafted. There's so much foreshadowing in the details. This is expected of a time loop story, where butterfly effect is often explored and the protagonist notices more importance of past events. However, keeping up with all these details is still impressive for the author. I didn't feel like the book dragged on too much at any point, as any world-building elements were interesting enough even if info-dumpy. Our main character, Zorian, grows a lot, from a self-centered and unlikeable character to someone I was rooting for. I wish I had more connection with the other characters, but the cast is quite big and I think I will grow more attachment as I continue with the series. There's a lot of potential for this series to get better, and I am looking forward to reading on.
