Zorian starts out SO annoying. Thank God for character growth. I love all the characters! They're all so interesting! Pisses me off Zorian didn't tell Zach he was also in the loop but oh well. WHO is Red Robe???? My theory is Daimen but not for any particular reason it just feels narratively compelling. Kirielle is an icon I love her. RIP to the spiders :(

Series Review: A pretty good series. A great slow burn from a normal person to a top tier wizard. The progression felt earned, and the character development was pretty good and felt human, even if that character is a bit of a prick. A little bit.. guy centric.. diveristy wise. Best quality was the magical-realism and character growth. The enemies all were very capable and they felt smart and real.

If info dumping and frequent, long explanations of lore, magic, people, etc are a deal breaker for you then this is a book you will not enjoy. That being said, while the book is incredibly slow paced, the plot hits story beats consistently enough that it remains interesting from start to finish. At no point did I feel like the book was just spinning its wheels and wasting time. Very much looking forward to starting the next arc!
