It's fine as far as it goes, but it's not as strong as the Wimpy Kid books, and I prefer Big Nate's adventures in comic strip form.
funny lighthearted fast-paced

Funny and relate-able much better than Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Nate is actually likable unlike Greg Heffley

The story is entertaining, although I pity it was not longer. Hahahaha. The plot is interesting enough, but I find the ending is quite easy to guess.

Thank you my cousin for the free book! :p

I thought it was pretty cute, but not quite as good as Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

This was hysterical and fun to read. Sean loved it. We'll be reading more from this series.

This is similar to Captain Underpants or Dog Man without the vulgar toilet talk of Captain Underpants. I liked that most of the time Nate didn’t get into trouble because he was “bad” on purpose. Some of them were misunderstandings and unfortunate incidents (like the gym one). Overall definitely would recommend to a new reader of “novels” but still enjoy pictures accompanying the text.

Nate starts his day with a statement from a fortune cookie saying that he will "surpass all others". In what area he will surpass all others is part of what is so funny. This is for every kid who has gotten into trouble for something they think they didn't do and for every teacher who has a Nate in his/her class. Even this principal couldn't stop laughing at the end. For fans of A Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Cute. Nate has a talent for getting into trouble. As the class nerd, I identified with Gina a little more.
