Nothing screams holiday festivities in the middle of Satan’s  asshole summer… but this book did the charm!

This one felt special due to the overarching story told by both Clyde and Andrea. I became really invested in them, and although I obviously already knew how their story would end (DUH), I still felt concerned about them and wanted them to get away with it.

Quite a good one from Jack Steen! Since this was about serial killers, Steen wrote really interesting stories that delved deep into how a serial killer's mind works, and what serial killing might mean for each of these patients. Shivers crept up my spine!

A fantastic series!
Thanks for the recipes!

I'm ready for the next oneeee

This one was back up to par with the others - glad to see the last one was just a fluke imo. Looking forward to the next one. Can’t decide if this made me want cookies or scared me away from them for a while lol.

What a great book to read around the holidays...if you aren't looking for a happy Christmas story. I was absolutely captivated by this installment, and can't wait to try the cookie recipes included. It contains one of my favorite trio of stories, even though the fourth story broke my heart. As always, I'm left wondering if I can really blame all the inmates for their actions...

This volume is probably the most unique out of the whole series. (Well…so far, as I have three left to read). It was unusual because most of the confessions within are all connected, and with quite a surprising twist about them.

The one standalone confession was quick but revolved around a character that is employed at Jack’s workplace, giving an element of personalization to this particular confession.

Also, probably due to the holiday theme of the volume, Jack throws in a few extra Christmas “gifts” such as various holiday treat recipes and a couple of extra “confession” stories at the end of the book, which I admit were pretty fun.

While not my favorite of the series, I did like this installment better than a couple of others I’ve read. I’m rating it 4.25 stars with, of course, a high recommendation for reading. It’s a great series!
