As with the previous volume of 6 comics, Vox Machina Origins continues on a weird semi-stagnation. Its not a hard, problematic or bothersome read - but it is just not very good either. It often loads up panels with lots of text, or makes some scenes of combat or 'cinematography' (if you can call it that in a graphic novel) hard to follow. I think a lot of the positives come from expressiveness and character banter, which is unsurprising but its built within an adaptation, that, while faithful, is a disservice to the broader strengths of Vox Machina's tale.
I'd like to like it more, heck I'd really like to love the comics, but as previously stated the actual final product and feel of pursuing them is akin to a fan project or something they didn't want to fully commit to.
