The love story here was so sweet, and Ben’s healing of their relationship with their sister and processing of familial trauma was super well-handled. The writing style just wasn’t my favorite — kind of abrupt, and the dialogue felt really stilted in parts — but this book is definitely going to be a huge boon for queer and NB kids out there.

This book is one of the most important novels written today. Gender identity is such a confusing place, it took me years to navigate that I am actually Genderqueer. Mason Deaver literally wrote things that made total sense to me in my identity and dysphoria with gender. Incredible.

I love this book so much and the author! Mason Deaver is one of my favorite authors, which is rare because I read so many different authors :). I love this story, I like seeing how far authors have come in terms of writing. I thought this story was many different things, though the words I can use to describe it are: amazing and captivating. this was a great read and I recommend it (and made my friends read it).
