Absurdism describes the book to a T. It's weird, it's funny, it's absurd.
The book is different, there are no chapters, it jumps a lot.
There are some characters POVs I enjoyed more than others. Some charaters you can just shake your head at.
This is something you have to want to read and it's definetly not everyones cup of tea.

Witty, clever, and engaging! A new favorite.

I am not sure how Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett managed to make a story about the Apocalypse so amusing. But they did - and it is a masterpiece.

NOTE: I listened to the full cast production by Audible, which made the story absolutely come alive.

Despite the large host of characters, I felt each was well-developed and had a satisfactory arc. I came to like every one of the them - from grouchy Witchfinder Sergeant Shadwell to eccentric Madame Tracy to awkward Newton Pulsifer to modern witch Anathema Device.
Of course, our main characters - Adam, Aziraphale, and Crowley - are magnificent.

The storytelling itself - jumping perspectives to each different character - was so engaging that I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook.

Finally, despite the overall tone being humorous, Gaiman and Pratchett skillfully underscored real, meaningful messages. They captured the complexity of humanity, the beauty of friendships, the strength to chose your own destiny, and the power of love. Their social commentary was genius as well.

I will recommend this book to all my friends!

It took me an *inordinate* amount of time to finish this book. If you’re looking for dry British humour, and lots of side notes and tangents, then this is likely for you! The writing is amazing, they’re both great authors, I just did not feel like I gained much in the story within the 400 pages. Though I did laugh and giggle at parts, it was enjoyable.
