Oh boy did I get mad, held my breath, teared up and finally cried.

I felt for Camille and wanted nothing but the best and the happiest ending for her. Such a strong character, all the pamphlets she printed gave me serious chills.

What a great book. Definitely one of the best I’ve ever read.

I loved, loved, loved the first book in this series! It was one of my favorite things ever. So I was very excited to read the sequel!

In my opinion, the first book was better, but this one still held its own. The characters I loved so much from the first book felt more watered-down in this one, and their motives less clear. Also, one of my favorite characters from the first book did not reappear, so I was sad about that, but would not have wanted the author to squeeze her in where she didn't fit.

Despite this, I still found the beautiful writing enchanting, couldn't wait to see if they all made it safely to the end, and thoroughly enjoyed the pacing. It's so refreshing when chapters end with characters discussing doing something or thinking about doing something and then consistently begin with them doing that thing, with no time wasted building up to it. Both books were like this.

Still, a little of the heart was gone from the first one, so I felt I needed to drop this a star.

This duology is beautiful. I loved it. Camille is such a compelling character and I loved her struggle to accept herself and her magic in this second installment. The stakes were higher and there were even more characters to love. But, of course, speaking of love....the romance between Camille and Lazarre....swoooon. So, so good. All in all, a great read.

Everything That Burns was a great follow-up to All That Glitters. The French Revolution progresses and changes from a hopeful change to a deadly era especially for witches like Camille. She continues to try to balance her dream of printing with that of keeping her sister safe and happy. We are introduced to a great set of Lost Girls and continue to follow many of the great characters from book 1.

I was happy to see LGBQ characters (and a great love story) as well as a whole cast of strong women.

There is some violence in the book and a little cursing but no graphic love scenes. Recommended for teenagers and up.
