If you're like me and read and enjoyed [b:Snapdragon|44280844|Snapdragon|Kat Leyh|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1562010523l/44280844._SX50_.jpg|68794400] last year, then you will be excited to hear that Kat Leyh has a new book out. This book features a pod made up of two mermaids and a sea witch. They realize they are out of wine from shipwrecks and NEED.MORE.BOOZE so the sea witch casts a spell on them to turn them into humans. They make their way to a coastal community in search of booze. They aren't quite familiar with human ways, so show up on the boardwalk naked. They quickly get some clothes by various means and eventually find a bar call The Thirsty Mermaid where they befriend the bartender who tries to help them out. This was a fun romp of a book, with lots of girl power, messages about mental health, LGBTQ representation and body positivity.

Thank you to the publisher for the lovely review copy!

Three hard-partying mermaids try to ‘find their legs’ in the confusing and contradictory world of humans when all they really want is a resupply of booze and a way home... Magic! Found family! Gainful employment! Public indecency! This book is gorgeous and hilarious!

Thirsty Mermaids is so fun!!! I laughed, I cried, I grinned from ear to ear in this heartwarming, found family, silly goose graphic novel! The mermaids Pearl, Tooth, and Ez have turned human for a night of partying but oop...they kinda don't know how to be mermaids again...so they gotta pass as human!

I'm telling you if you need a feel good happy thing to read, this is it! The alcoholic mermaids had me laughing and smiling the whole time. I really appreciated the body representation, trans representation, found family, as well as overall being a human is a trip aspect lol.

Each characters voice really popped through the page, and the artwork is beautiful!
