I enjoyed getting a behind the scenes look at the life of an actress I've always admired. What I was really surprised to learn, in light of Davis' Institute on Gender in the Media, was her big love of Dustin Hoffman who not that recently seemed to express problematic views on sexual assault. I was also really grossed out by Jack Nicholson's conduct, which Davis just seems to have excused away. Later years were glossed over very quickly, as were later relationships.

Geena Davis is comedy gold in her narration to her book. She is so humble and hilarious and down-to-earth. Her quest for equality in Hollywood was great to listen too. Her experiences with misogyny were gross and I’m glad she used the men by name. I’m now going to go watch every movie she has starred in.

Geena Davis has been a woman I have looked up to most of my life and so hearing about some of the amazing things she has done that I didn't know about just made me an even bigger fan.

Even if aren't familiar with Ms. Davis' work (confession: I've never seen Thelma and Louise, but I will now) her story is a lot of women's stories. Pathologically afraid of imposing on anyone for any reason, while simultaneously trying to cajole your inner badass to show up, and having mixed success. I loved it!
