I continue to admire Geena Davis' career in the entertainment industry. I related a lot to her upbringing in terms of being taught to constantly be polite and nice even when people don't deserve it. The book picks up when she films Thelma & Louise with Susan Sarandon and she truly embraces feminist values and ideals. I really like how she defies social norms by becoming a mother much later in life and in her own terms.

I'm in an audiobook phase, so I'm kind of reading memoirs at random from Libby as I come across them. I've seen Davis in a few things, but didn't know much about her life, other than that she was once married to Jeff Goldblum (and only because my Dad once described him as "the guy with the glasses who was married to Geena Davis" because all of my Dad's references are somehow 30 years old).

All that aside, this was a decent read. I like memoirs read by the author, so this was fun. It definitely felt a bit all over the place though. Some things, like Davis' early modelling days are covered in great detail, while others that I was really interested in, like Beetlejuice are almost skipped over.

Very light and breezy. Geena is lovely and quirky and honest but don’t expect salacious Hollywood gossip from this one. She’s a class act.

Listened to the audiobook read by Geena Davis. I have to admit to being biased towards Davis, as I've been a fan for many years. That being said, this memoir was phenomenal. I never imagined being able to relate to a Hollywood star, but that's exactly what happened.

Amazing life, incredible and subtle advice, and all the charm.

Geena is a wonderful storyteller; I also enjoyed her narration.
