Pretty interesting and quick memoir, with a great balance of personal backstory and showbiz stories.
I’ve always thought Geena Davis was intriguing, and this book shows even more layers to her persona.
There seemed to be a few bits and pieces that could have used a finer edit, but overall really enjoyed this.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Ms. Davis is an exceptional writer and this was a fun and quick read. I do wish that Ms. Davis delved a little deeper into certain aspects of her life, but it was her story and she did a great job telling it. You really got a good sense of the person she is and the love that she has for her family and her craft.

Dying of Politeness was a fun, entertaining read. Filled with hilarious stories and embarrassing moments, I found myself laughing out loud throughout.
Geena related her experiences as a model turned actor giving insight into many of the movies that made her famous. While I wasn’t familiar with all of her work, the stories were still enjoyable.
Some of the more personal details of her relationships and becoming a mother for the first time at 46 were glossed over. I don’t care to know all the details of her relationships but did want to know what motivates someone to get married four times (sounds exhausting!). Also, how did it feel to become a mom to three kids at 46 and 48?
I enjoyed the stories of her parents and appreciated her struggle to overcome her affliction of politeness. I admire her research institute work that identified and worked to correct low representation of females in children’s entertainment.
