This was a bookclub pick, and I listened to the audio which was read by the narrator.
I think had I been a little more familiar with Davis' work (beyond A League of Their Own), I would have enjoyed this more. There are interesting moments for a reader who is not interested in following Davis' career, as she discusses the confines of female expectations- in being too nice- though she seems to demonstrate she goes against this more often than she gives herself credit, particularly at the beginning of her modelling career. Her confidence in knowing she will be an actor, and her route through a modelling career is yet another example of her strength.
I think the most interesting part of this was towards the end where she examines gender representation in kid's movies, and I would have been happy to read more about this.
