The second book in this series is just as good as the first. The writing is impeccable; this book broke my heart and put it back together. I’m not sure if I’m emotionally ready for the third book but I can’t wait to see where this ends. Again, this book is about so much more than just hockey and is definitely worth the read.

overall, i enjoyed this. i love Backman's writing and the Beartown characters are very 3 dimensional and loveable. i did not enjoy how we were introduced to a bunch of new characters and how the plot became so political. despite this, Backman never disappoints me with his strong characters that make me feel so deeply for them.
