It just made me hate A.I.D.A.N like... really really Hate It.
I have wanted to read this ever since they came out with this as a pre order for aurora rising and now I FINALLY had the change to read it and it was so worth it!
This is only 84 pages but it made me feel ALL the feels. It made me happy, it made me sad, it made me fall in love and by the end it had me BAWLING!
Best novella I have ever read, best book of this year for me.
So, so, so good!
I loved the ending, I loved the twists, I loved the writing, I loved the format.
But I absolutely LOVED to be back into the world and see glimpses of the characters and AIDEN and how the Alexander ended up at Karenza and what happened before.
Perfection!
Goosebumps!
5+ stars!

I listened to this one on audio and found the full cast to be very interesting but also a bit overwhelming with the sound effects etc. I read the first book physically and I think I prefer that method. This was a nice set up for the first novel, and gave a bit of background for it. Overall it was enjoyable and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. It’s so unique!

Gods, I loved this. The Illuminae Files is easily one of my top 3 favorite series of all time, and Momento added to the incredible world [a:Amie Kaufman|5360335|Amie Kaufman|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1478659853p2/5360335.jpg] and [a:Jay Kristoff|4735144|Jay Kristoff|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1310187120p2/4735144.jpg] have built.
Note: this is definitely a book you should wait to read until having finished at least the first book because [b:Illuminae|26053112|Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)|Amie Kaufman|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1488163053l/26053112._SX50_.jpg|26653661] provides some (in my opinion) important context for the events shown in Momento.

The main reason I loved Momento so much is that it showed the events that led up to where Illuminae starts. It showed the attack on Kerenza IV from the perspective of the UTA and AIDAN. It also shows how AIDAN developed a sense of self and morality. For example, the transition from referring to itself as "AIDAN" (third person) to "I" (first person).*end of spoilers*
