A great look into how the IA system in the original story was damaged. In the short length of this story I was able to get sucked right back into the world and I loved it. It was also awesome to see how Aiden started referring to themselves as "I"
You don't realise how much you've missed AIDEN until your listening to him justify the murder of innocent people... good times.

It has been forever since I read the Illuminae series so I did not get as much out of this as I could have if it were fresher in my mind, but I still liked being back in the sci-fi world and learning about AIDAN because I do remember what happened with him. Very quick e-book read with the cool formatting we know from the original series. Kind of annoying to read in all caps and white on black, but otherwise decent.
I greatly enjoyed getting to see how AIDAN was prior to the events of the following books. A very short, quick read but I loved the additional details! Illuminae has been one of my all time favorite series.
Surprisingly dark and emotionally affecting. Probably my second favorite of the series behind Illuminae.

MEMENTO was pure perfection! It was everything I hoped it would be, and really it was even more than I expected! It really felt like a full story even though it was only 80 pages. I was expecting just something about AIDAN but there was even a main character and a romance all bundled into this little promo short! It was filled with some beautiful AIDAN madness and I loved seeing those weeks before ILLUMINAE started and how AIDAN started making decisions for himself. Another brilliant addition to this world/series and I had so much fun reading it!!

I really like this book because it allows us to see what actually happen and how AIDAN started making its own decisions (crazy decisions though) in the Illuminae book.
I read it after the final book and it actually makes me think AIDAN has been through a lot from being only a piece of technology which needs to be taught about morality in order to make decisions learn to have feelings and ended up having a second chance.
