Jamie was a little annoying at times but otherwise a really good book

I was so excited for this book! I had been wanting to read a book by this author since her other book came out! I enjoyed the plot, even though the magic part of it was like “well that just happened, alright let’s move on with the story.” I really enjoyed the two sisters, getting to know them and their interests. I can’t begin to tell you how much a freaked out when MCR and Billie Eilish were mentioned. I don’t know about other people on this app but I don’t usually read about book characters liking music. Then again I usually read books about people in far off worlds and in space over a hundred or thousand pf years into the future. But I felt like this book was really sown to earth and that the characters all seemed extremely real. I loved how I had a problem with Jamie only to have Siri point it out a couple pages after. I hope to read Riccios other book soon! Oh! I had gotten this book at Barnes and Noble because I just so happen to look at the books that were on sale. To make it even better I got the exclusive cover with it signed by the author!

After spending years watching Christine on YouTube, I had no idea what to expect from her books. I went into it knowing nothing. At first, the writing style struck me as very different but I quickly fell into it and I was gripped by the story. I loved the quirkiness of the characters and the relationships formed. A fun easy book!

I would like to preface this with I love Christine’s videos and want nothing but for her to succeed but this book was just not my favorite. I did find myself empathizing with the characters and enjoying some of the content but overall, I think the parents got off too easy with this. It does also point out the insanity of the very idea of the parent trap in the first place which I liked. However, the characters are not that enjoyable to me, which I didn’t like.

I would give the book 5 stars, but I absolutely could not stand one of the main characters, Jamie. I found her insufferable and completely unfunny even though she was supposed to be a standup comedian.

I enjoyed reading from two different POVs throughout the book. It was fast paced and had a good flow.
