This was such a slog to get through but I can admire why it’s one of the all time classics. Definitely not Hemingway’s best though I think even a farewell to arms tops it idk (and obvs sun also rises is his best)
“If we win here we will win everywhere. The world is a fine place and worth the fighting for and I hate very much to leave it.”
I am just not into classic literature damn.
It took me a really long time to get through this, but it was totally worth it.
This was so well written. My first Hemmingway and I loved it.

Very slow-paced, but Robert Jordan has finally come full circle. The entire book is about his internal struggle and anticipation for what is about to come, and when it comes, he accepts things as they are. Very slow-paced though, I felt like some chapters were there as a filler, but I appreciate how the characters are defined "deeply" in a sense.
