I really liked the story, and the second chance romance.
The surprise parenthood of 6 year old twins, was very interesting, it envolved a lot of complex feelings, and it was good to see Easton "Big E" having to conciliate his feeings, meeting the twins and falling in love with his babies.
Caro's reactions to all of it? Not so good.
Loved the hockey antics, seeing Easton and Caro dealing with the children's feelings and their own, how they tried to conciliate they're own longing feelings, and the HEA ;)

A good filler read. The characters needed further depth and development. Also not really realistic of the emotional journeys and impact. The interactions between characters was sometimes frustrating.

This is the first book I have read from Jami Davenport and I will definitely be starting on her backlist. I love hockey romances and this was a fantastic one!

Easton is a professional hockey player for the Seattle Sockeyes. Caroline is a newly-widowed single mom of twins. The two had a summer fling six years ago that ended on pretty bad terms. When a DNA test reveals the true parentage of the twins, the two reconnect. Can they get over past hurts and make it work now that they are older, or will too much time and too many secrets keep them apart?

I love a good second chance romance. There is just something about seeing a couple work things out after previously having their hearts broken. Easton was a great character. I loved that while he was a playboy for a bit, it wasn’t super skeezy. I also liked Caroline and really felt for her, even when she was frustrating me. I loved the two kids as well as Junie and the other hockey players. I cannot wait for their stories!

If you are looking for a sports romance, look no further. I give this one 4.5 stars and cannot wait to read more from Jami!

Not a fun read. The basic premise maybe had some potential that could’ve been developed better, but it felt scattered and inconsistent. My notes below reflect my biggest moments of frustration. At first, I was like okay, maybe this is like step up from a Harlequin. It proved me wrong.

NGL I would’ve read the second book if it had been free/on KU

Recommended for: people who don’t pay much attention while they’re reading (I might’ve had a better experience on audio)

1. Why are you being such a b to someone who has been nothing but nice to you? It was unreasonable and not enjoyable

2. He’s a first year pro hockey player, when before would he have gone to black tie events?

3. WAS THE TREE PRELIT OR NOT?
