challenging informative slow-paced

Appreciate the work and time that went into crafting this book. Wouldn’t have stuck with it if it wasn’t for The Lady Chablis or the vivid descriptions of Savannah’s beauty.

mysterious slow-paced

Not my usuals pick, but read this for a year based reading challenge…
My main takeaways from this:
1) these people are terrible
2) I wish more of them had died
3) just yikes

Wish the book had been about our Queen Chablis

Started off a little slow as we get to know the characters but picks up a lot once the murder hits. Loved Chadhis (spelling?)

I don't love true crime as much as the person who recommended this to me. While I can appreciate the prose and beautiful Savannah backdrop, this book is rife with transphobia, homophobia, and racism.
