Nice, short. Really fast read. Just a simple, uncomplicated read that didn't demand much from a reader. Cute but missable.

Picks up further on from where the last book left off, no rehashing, the story is happening right now keep up. The mash up of Cinderella and Snow White was alright but the main focus was on how Zinnia was running away from her problems and not confronting her worries; pushing away her friends, family and her real world in favour of diving into these other worlds to be a hero and give people their happy ending instead of confronting herself. Which yeah that's a totally worthwhile plot.

The romance was a bit too speedy for my taste. I definitely prefer more of a slow understanding, a friendship first or even a slow burn to an insta-attraction and three days later we are in love romance. It just doesn't vibe with me unless we're under extreme circumstances and then you gotta at least give em a week for those trauma bonding chemicals or what have you to kick it off. Three days??? All that's to say that it needed more time to cook and then I could've seen it working.

I was surprised about the time jump between this story and the last book, but it provides for a good premise and things that will be addressed in this book.
We still hop through the fairy tale multiverse with the self-consciousness and introspection the last about fairy tales and stories the last book had too. I loved that we moved to a different fairy tale (and it did not seemed forced or unnatural to jump to this one or to jump at all).

Overall this was a great read and some good entertainment.

I liked this one, but oof, did the ending hurt. (Not because the terminally ill character was cured, thank goodness!) I just don't understand why
the couple couldn't get their happily ever after. Like, are we completely forgetting that Prim is not in her world?? So why do Eva and Zinnia have to be parted?

I really don’t know if I can put my feelings into words for this book. The beginning of it didn’t resonate quite as much as the first one and I wasn’t as invested but the ending absolutely split me open and despite it being fairly open ended I appreciated how it ended Zinnia’s story and felt it was fairly fitting
Overall I really enjoyed reading this duology and would definitely recommend it
