Back to the Alston world for another great enemies to lovers story.
Asher and Levi’s story was a bit slow to star for me, heavy on the enemies theme, but as it got past that and knowing more about the characters I really enjoyed the story.
I liked the relationship building between the two and the struggles that they had to go through with the rivalry.
I enjoyed Becca’s writing style and the multiple POV.

Bro. These kids were so crazy and really annoying but I find of miss them and their shenanigans LOL
I'd forgotten how much I love the clashing, combative nature of enemies-to-lovers romances, but Asher and Levi's rivalry brought it all back. The hatred between these two was intense at the beginning of the book, so when I started to see signs that they were attracted to each other I knew it'd be explosive. Something about the heightened sexual tension, hate-you-need-you energy, and viciously rough encounters pushes all the right buttons for me, and holy cow did Levi and Asher radiate that sentiment when they first came together. I couldn't believe how intensely steamy and all-consuming their passion was, and knowing how confused they were by their attraction only made me more excited. It was only after multiple heated, unstoppable kisses that Asher and Levi started to explore beyond the physical, and I have to admit that it was pretty cute to see them sneak around to be together. These men fell hard for each other, and though their tenderness had to stay a secret from everyone else, it didn't stop me from wishing they could be together out in the open. For a long time I wasn't sure how to reconcile their relationship with the heated, school-wide rivalry, but in the end Levi and Asher managed to make it work. I wasn't expecting the extended epilogue to tug on my heartstrings so much, but it was wonderful to know that Asher and Levi's relationship only grew stronger over the years.

Finally my book slump is over
I have started so many books this last month and have not finished one, until now. This is a really great no angst hot as fuck enemies to lovers high school romance.
If you want to shed some tears this isn't the book. If you want a real enemies to lovers that is hot as hell this is your book.
And the end is very sweet.

This was so cute! Asher and Levi are rivals, they hate each other, but you know what they say, love and hate are just two sides of the same coin. It was so great seeing them both discover their feelings and their sexuality together. I just wish there was a little more story about what happened when they were dealing with the rivalry.
I could imagine this kind of story appealing to the girls who read One Direction fanfiction. That wasn't me, but, despite myself, I really enjoyed this. Highly unrealistic scenarios, soccer (*football... I'm sure Levi and Asher would not like that word lol), and ANGST. I do love good angst and build-up.
This was definitely the "appeal to lowest common denominator" type of story and at that moment, I counted myself among that group.

medium-paced
He had a knife named ruby. This one had potential but the execution was horrible. The writing felt unnatural.
This book is what I’m asking for when I say I want low-angst enemies to lovers. I’m apparently an outlier for wanting it but it does exist and it exists here. This book has like 45 seconds of angst and I am here for it. There’s about as much angst and “hatred” in this book as there is between me and a donut I already know I’m going to eat. I don’t want to be miserable, I want to be happy. This makes me happy.
Asher and Levi are end game and I am not willing to discuss it. I loved the pranks. I loved everything.
It’s short, sweet, swoony, minimum angst, fastish burn, and it’s so funny. I want 40 more books of them
