Although I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance, Savage Rivals is full of clichés, and sometimes cringeworthy dialogue.

As captains of opposing sports teams, Asher and Levi's animosity towards each other conceals an attraction that they couldn't admit to themselves. They fight the sexual tension brewing between them but eventually succumb to it.

The rapid progression of the nature of their relationship from lust to love seemed unbelievable to me. The childish pranks and instantaneous sex come across as shallow that I don't really see any meaningful conversations between them except perhaps  towards the end of the book.

Though I finished the novel quickly, the lack of emotional depth makes this book an average read for me.

It was super cute, a little compact cupcake of a novel, with many adorable moments and so deliciously written smutty scenes. I think I just struggled a bit with the pacing and also the maturity (or lack thereof) of the characters, but these are teenager so it's to be expected!

I loved the Britishness of it and could definitely see this playing out around the estates I grew up on. It feels like the kind of book I would've love to devour in secondary school. I will certainly look out for more Becca Steele novels to read!

I wasn't sure about this one in the beginning since I haven't read a new adult book in a while and I was struggling a bit with how "stupid" the conflict between the MCs sounded to me.

However the story once the MCs realized that their rivalry/obsession with each other turned into something way different it ended up being extremely sweet and low angst.

I really appreciated the parents and their friends being supportive once they came out.

The 7 years later epilogue wasn't necessary but it didn't offend me either.

Overall I would recommend if you're looking for an enemies to lovers with not too much angst but actual animosity between the two leads at the beginning.
