Mavis and her crew are back! Hysterical, easy to read and zoom through as much as the first book. The tender, strong relationship Mavis has with her Dad reminds me of my own with my Dad and I truly appreciated this. Too many times Dad’s are depicted as “scum” so to see a positive father with his own characterization (no one is perfect) was so touching / real. I love how Audre Nash really invests into the audio by giving the characters a distinct voice. My only eh moment was the hint of Mavis having to decide between two people when I was more invested in the antics of what was going on.

Truly such a clever, funny, and dynamic cozy mystery series! Bryant’s ability to identify weirdly niche tween/teen culture is amazing (like their obsession with shrek).
