This book is very “tumblr-esque”. I would’ve loved it when I was 14 I think. Some of the poems are nice but a lot of them are just sentences and statements that you’ve definitely seen online somewhere. Fair play to Patience Tamara for releasing it and it is lovely if you’re down in the dumps but not my kind of thing unfortunately.

Dear Self, is filled with those “affirmation” -type poems that are so accessible and very relatable. I tabbed it like crazy — clearly, I adored it. It reminded me of how I speak to my friends — filled with encouraging words, validation. And then it reminded me that this is how I should be speaking to myself too 🥹 loved it. Will be going back to it time and time again! So happy to have it in my collection!

I absolutely love this! It resonated so much with me. I've been on a healing journey for a while now, and some of these I've covered and needed to hear again and others I really needed to hear.

Will definitely be rereading this one for a very long time! Would highly recommend!
