I have adored Gretchen McNeils books and writing style since I first read Murdertrending. You know its going to be deadly, gruesome, and make your heart jump out of your skin a few times. You just never know whats coming, how bad its going to be or when.

I didn't pick any of this really. I thought I knew who was behind it and I was right about that but I was only half right and I got all of the motives completely wrong. Plus that twist at the end. I should have seen that coming after they explained it.....but no. I was stunned.

Love it!

The description of this book really hooked me in but the execution of the story left me very disappointed.  The main character was nice and I sympathized with her but  by the end I just hated almost everyone in the story.  Neely and Riot were my favorites.
The writing was very juvenile to me and it became a distraction. The way the characters spoke to each other and the very one dimensional characters just weren’t believable to me.
I was disappointed but I finished it and wasn’t impressed.

These books are just too fun idk. I'd kill for a tv series.

This book was a whirlwind of plot twist and I would’ve never guessed anything. It was well written and suspenseful and very interesting. This was a really great murder mystery

The first half had me really bored but then it got interesting

I’m also gonna need some time to process the ending because the plot twist was SOOO good

at first i was like wait who are these people why isnt this about the postman and kimmie. but at the end omg my mind was blown! looking back there were so many signs like how “kevin” kept protecting “persey”. what most confused me about the end tho was that “persey” turned out to be kimmi? like i thought kimmi was abes daughter so maybe he named his daughter after her? but then where is the real kimber in the other books.
anyway it was really good and i enjoyed the whole series.

2.25 stars — i think the idea of the plot is really snazzy but the execution was absolutely terrible. the characters are all like one dimensional tropes and none of them are likable nor realistic. the plot twists are clever but not set up well at all. the writing was also really like immature and unsophisticated to the point where it reminded me of like the word vomit i’d write in gr 9 or something. overall, good idea but i hated it
