Sweet short

Audible. Also available in KU.

This is my first story by Madison Wright. This was a sweet fake fiancé trope and overall I enjoyed it as an easy listen. For such a short story, I felt like too much time was spent on Holly’s relationship with secondary characters instead of getting to know Matthew and it made it a little difficult to buy in to the HFN ending.

Kit Swann has a fantastic voice and I really enjoyed her narration.

I received a free copy of this audiobook and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book was about as good as I’d expected it to be. The story line was pretty predictable for a fake office romance plot. I actually liked the characters and the entire story up until the truth came out about why Michael needed a fake fiancé. His reasoning was so unlikely for a successful individual such as himself. And Holly’s reaction to the revelation and instant change of heart after hearing Michael’s side of the story was completely unrealistic for the story based on the her precious behavior.

All in all, it was a good audiobook with a somewhat rushed and unrealistic ending.

I received this book as an arc for a voluntary and honest review. My overall feeling of this book was enjoyable, but I felt it was rushed and the development of the characters were lacking. I throughly loved the relationship between Daniela & Holly. I felt like there was more depth with Holly & Daniela’s relationship then with Holly & Matthew. It does have a HEA, but no epilogue. I would recommend for a quick, light and sweet read. I look forward to reading more from Madison Wright in the future. Madison’s writing style is lovely. My rating 3/5.

Even though this is short...I LOved the energy brought about by the story and narrator. Short story with all the feels. I laughed, had hope and was angry right along the the main character. These characters were fun and flirty. I enjoyed listening to this immensely. Kit Swan did a wonderful job with all the characters that were in this.
