Whoa okay that was a roller coaster of emotions! First off I have to say that I don't get why people say this book is 90% sex when the first sex isn't even until pass the halfway point and then there are only pole two after that. I was expecting it to be so much worse with all of this reviews complaining like I'm so glad that it wasn't true.
Onto the actual story, I think this is my favorite TOG book so far! I really liked how the plot thickened and all of those plot twists came together so perfectly. I was definitely not ready.
I didn't cry or anything when that happened but the whole flashback with Nehemia made my chest and throat hurt. That was heartbreaking.
Overall 10/10 on this one. I really loved it. It's now 4 am so I need to go to bed. I am so sad I have to wait another year to read the next book (not including the Chaol one). That's why I put off reading this one for so long but oh well. I have no self control.

I could leave a looong review for this fifth installment of the TOG series, OR , just summarize with bullets. I'm going to do the latter.
Some of my gripes:
* The coupling-up of almost everyone
* I can't help but see Lysandra as an animporph...which makes me think the book can't decide which age group it's aimed for--what with the spice
* THE literal coupling. If you know, you know
* Aedion's grumpiness about his father
* Aedion in general
Those gripes put aside, I loved the following:
* Elide and Lorcan (mostly Elide)
* Manon's development, though there could have been more of it
* Dorian's development (I ADORE him now, like he's my fav TOG guy)
* The scenes at sea and Pirates of the Caribbean vibe
* THE ENDING
In full honestly, I'm starting to loose interest in some of the characters, such as Aedion. Hopefully by the time I'm through Tower of Dawn that will change.
The book is rated as a solid 3.0.

This book was so slow. Tower of dawn and this should have been shrunken down and combined honestly only the second half of it kept my attention and then it got really good towards the end.

4✨ I don’t understand how Sarah J. Maas can blow up the entire story in the last two chapters. It’s impressive honestly. On another note…. Aelin’s ego kinda got annoying in this book
