With you I'm finally home.

delicious literally so DELICIOUS how do the books keep getting better & better... i asked for more of oliver & his family and i received!!!! this was everything i wanted it to be, and beyond. i simply could not put this book down it was sooo good!

oliver keeping cooper in the dark was rough though—especially during that first meeting with the pack. i understand that oliver didn't want cooper to learn about his past & see the cracks in his armour, and that his grandfather's death was unexpected so he didn't have time to really adjust but he still could've said something, ANYTHING, to prepare cooper for what he was about to go through. it was physically painful to read about cooper being kept in the dark & left to fend for himself amongst people who not only did not welcome him because he was a human—some of them openly hostile—but moved through an entire different world, completely unknown & unattainable to cooper.

it's no secret that i love cooper an insane amount so seeing him suffering like this & knowing it could have been prevented by oliver, even if only just a little, but he chose not to, was hard. i adore oliver too & would die for him in a heartbeat but i wanted to shake him sooooooo bad!

i was glad to see cooper finally confronting him about it & demanding answers, demanding to be treated with the same honesty he was showing oliver. because woaaahhhh did he grow from the closed-off & suspicious man we got to know in the wolf at the door. he's still kind of an anxious mess with a lot of bagage to carry but he's TRYING!!!! he's trying SO hard & i'm happy that oliver is trying now too, instead of pretending to be someone he's not because he thinks that's who cooper wants him to be.

also oliver saying that cooper is his alpha caught me off guard a bit but it makes SO MUCH SENSE when you see their relationship through this new lense. the way oliver reacts to cooper's presence, to his touch, the way he desperately wants to please him no matter what, how attuned he is to his every word & action, how shy & soft he gets around him only. they are my darlings so much i cannot stress this enough!!!!!

and finally cooper got to see oliver in his wolf form!!! hopefully this was only the first time of many! because i desperately need oliver to be more open about all things werewolves with cooper, for the sake of their relationship.

one other thing i love is that every book is set in a different place, and this one did not disappoint. the world-building is amazing, it was so fun to learn more about werewolves' society as a whole. the politics, the rivalries, the dynamics. the murder mystery plot did not interest me as much as the first two simply because i was so caught up in literally everything else!
i did not expect marcus to be behind it all though!

oh and did we figure out why eli was so close to oliver that first time we met him? LOL? i love eli i hope we'll get to see more of him! he's such a fun character, just the right amount of little shit wrapped up in a beautiful man <3

anyway, long story short i absolutely cannot wait to keep reading about their adventures, but until then, a few of my favourite quotes from this one:

He'd needed time to relearn his new reality. Again. For the first time now. Almost as if Park's absence was as disruptive as a broken bone or a shredded gut.

&

Park had him like a fever did. Thought-altering, blood-boiling and all-consuming.

&

I don't like to talk about anything, Oliver, but I do it for you.

&

He didn't say "It's okay" because it wasn't, or "I know" because he didn't. He didn't say "I'm sorry" because it was an empty, ritualistic platitude, or "You don't need her" because need had nothing to do with it. It was about want. And at some point, at least once in a lifetime, no matter who or why or what came before, everyone wants their mom.

&

You've seen the worst of me. You are the best of me. I won't ever risk losing that again.

&

And trust wasn't something to rush or abuse.

charlie adhara the writer you are!!!

Hooray! Werewolf politics!

I am OBSESSED with this series, which yes, I knew this would happen, because this series is so well loved, BUT I was not expecting the extent of my obsession. This series is literally all I think about in my waking moments. Which is so annoying because it’s a super busy period at work so I'm in the office all week...

Anyway, I have to say, I’m a BIT pissed at Park because woooow he really took 'thrown to the wolves' LITERALLY. Like c'mon, how could you be so caught up in yourself, you didn't think to warn COOPER what he was getting into at least??? And I’m a bit annoyed that Cooper didn’t get a chance to be properly angry at him as HE RIGHTFULLY SHOULD BE because of all the drama that went down.

But then ending was so sweet ahhh!! CMON GUYS U GUYS LOVE EACH OTHER I swear in the next book if I SEE any SECRETS again, I will flip a TABLE

I love a strong powerful werewolf who is secretly a softie and also has lots of family trauma and is slowly trying (with mixed success) to let his boyfriend in. This one expanded the political dynamics of wolves a lot more and also much more of Park's backstory and yep. Very enjoyable. I love the slow, emotional, and realistic development of their relationship that's taking place over several books instead of rushed into one book with a HEA. It is sooooo refreshing in the romance world to see a couple with an actually realistic relationship progression and problems that come up that they deal with!!

Charlie Adhara does such a good job of ending the last book on a good note and then immediately introducing tension back into Cooper and Oliver's relationship at the start of the next book. Thrown to the Wolves opens with them traveling to Canada for Oliver's grandfather's memorial service. Oliver's sexual orientation isn't a problem for his family, but Cooper being a human is.

We get more insight into Oliver's past and his hang ups, and when Cooper finally realizes that he isn't perfect, some balance in their relationship. Their role play was super hot, but so was
Oliver telling his family that Cooper is his alpha, and Oliver being so happy when Cooper asked him to move in was beyond precious.

I haven't even finished the series and I already want to go back and start from the beginning again.
