I am in love with this couple and these books. I love the paranormal aspect. I love the fabulous insight on recognizing marginalized people. I love the quip-iness. This author has more delightful one-liners or wonderful descriptive sentences than the vast majority of books that I read and would still recommend to people. I'm obsessed. I love these books so much. I was devastated to discover that they are not available in physical form. To the point that I tracked down the author on Instagram and asked how I could support making that happen. If you are comfortable with gay romance, like paranormal anything and procedural anything these books will work for you. It's not often (I don't think) that the procedural crime drama and paranormal sector overlap but these books did it. And did it really well.

Original review (31.12.22)
Out of the books in this series that I have read so far, I liked this one the best - probably bc it had more werewolf in it than the previous books.
Except for the ending, I didn't like the ending
Spoilerthe whole "Cooper being Oliver's alpha"? Sorry what? That came completely out of the blue for me and I don't see it, sorry.

Re-read (16.05.23)
Upon re-reading this I didn't like it as much but still alright.

4.5. Another solid installment. I like that the mystery had more to do with wolves and private wolf culture, and I like that it's
Spoilersomething that wasn't entirely resolved by the end of the book
. I also like that this book focused more on Oliver's struggles, which previously took a backseat to Cooper's struggles and growth. The lack of communication was frustrating at times, but Cooper's relentless support of Oliver was so good to see after two books of Oliver being there for Cooper no matter what. Banter was amazing as always.

4.5 Stars

The best, yet!

When I read book 1, I was a bit underwhelmed. Cooper was an asshole and Park was too perfect. In book 2, we finally saw Cooper be vulnerable and I warmed to him quite a bit, and now we FINALLY get to see Oliver Park be someone other than the perfect wolf he wants so hard for Cooper to see him as. We get to see just how uncertain he is and how much he doesn't want to be who he was groomed to be.

There were plenty of twists and turns in this story to keep me interested and invested and Cooper just keeps getting more and more likable and real, and Oliver, too, really. I think Oliver and Cooper have both turned a corner and I'm looking forward to seeing where they go from here.

Read this in a single day. This is my life now. No matter where these two go, trouble always seems to follow them and I love them so, so much. The writing in this series goes so hard. Once again the character development was delicious. I LOVED it.
