Het was wel een leuk verhaal, maar sommige zinnen waren wel echt erg vreemd. Maar dat lag misschien aan de vertaling...

4.5 on audible. I enjoyed the mystery and the way everything tied together neatly at the end.

This was such an entertaining book. We meet four people from opposite scenarios who are asked to go to a villa in Italy to receive something left to them in a will from a woman they don't know. They have a month to figure out the mystery that brought them all together.

It was all very fun until relatives and friends start coming to the Villa, out of the blue. It kind of broke the magic of the relationships of the original four. But everything works out in the end and I did enjoy the book very much.

I bought this book because it was cheap, sounded interesting (I do love a good mystery), and I was heading to the area of Italy where it was set (writing this review from Liguria. It’s great). I found the novel a bit slow to start, and a little confusing as I kept getting people mixed up or finding them annoying- but eventually the plot got going and all the characters - even Marjorie! - grew on me. The ending wrapped up a little quickly, I thought, especially given that it took so long to really start in the first place, but it was a good read and I enjoyed it. Perfect for an Italian holiday!

I listened to the audiobook, I really enjoyed the descriptions of Italy, the characters and the way the story connected the characters in unexpected ways. Great summer read, enjoyable but not too complicated or weighty.

A great mystery. Book got better as I listened to the audio copy. Couldn’t wait to listen and find out who Beatrice Malaspina was and how she was connected to the 4 legatees. Great twist at the end.

A pleasant gentle story based in Italy with those with a mystery to solve. Lots of different clues appear along the way together with a few twists. An enjoyable read

4 unconnected people, a villa in Italy and a mystery as to why they have been selected to be there. A good story, the resolution felt a little speedy.
