It was enjoyable, but didn’t wow me.
I had two major gripes. First, they called kimonos “robes.” C’mon, it had min min cicadas, why not kimonos or yukatas?
Second is that Takeo and Kaede fell into love instantly. And they used the word love. I guess you can blame it on their youth, but I didn’t see or feel any chemistry with their personalities. It even says in the book that Kaede knows nothing about Takeo! Oh well.
