This book was (surprisingly!) not a hit for me on audio. It became really hard to follow and the humor seemed completely lost on the narrator who read it so monotoned and serious. I thought it was interesting in the beginning but some chapters just bored me and it dragged on. Once I found out this was predominantly about white men i abruptly stopped listening. The introduction made it seem otherwise and I felt mislead. This would probably be better in print, wouldn’t recommend the audio

This may be the most disappointing book I've ever read. With a topic like queer history - & not only that, but gay villains - I was so excited for the storytelling and interesting real life characters. The characters were real, but somehow the authors took all of the interesting parts and put them nowhere in this book. ALSO they only included one woman?! Rude. If you were writing a research paper on queer history, this might be the book for you, but if not I would skip.
