This just wasn’t for me. It leaned more academic than I wanted - the stories were interesting enough but the density was tough to get through

While interesting, I just couldn't find the time or the energy to finish it, unfortunately. I expected something more along the lines of anthropological analysis of how sexuality functioned throughout time, using several historical figures as case studies, but the book is really more of an anthology of complicated gays throughout history. Not badly written by any means, just not quite what I was expecting.

Interesting. I’m not shocked that the guy who designed trump tower was a Nazi.

if you’ve listened to the podcast you’ll know . pretty much exactly what to expect - tbh i was a little disappointed, i was hoping it would go into more depth? or that there would be more stuff that they Hadn’t already covered but tbh i think they did an alright job laying the chapters out the way they did to make a decently cohesive argument from the loose collection of case studies
