Another really solid addition to the Rivers of London series with a healthy pile of well written magical shootouts thrown into a tightly plotted police investigation thriller. I’m still loving the wry first person narration and all of his nerdy cultural references. All of the characters are great.

Gründe dieses Buch nicht zu lesen:
- Du hast die ersten fünf Bände der Peter Grant Reihe noch nicht gelesen. Es gibt Buchreihen, die kann man in der Mitte beginnen, zum Beispiel die Scheibenwelt Romane von Terry Pratchett, aber diese Reihe gehört nicht dazu.
- Du mochtest die ersten Bücher der Reihe nicht. Wenn du hoffst, dass die Bücher besser werden, in welcher Weise auch immer, sie werden es nicht. Band sechs ist genauso gut wie Band eins. Wenn du die vorigen Bände nicht mochtest wirst du nach aller Wahrscheinlichkeit diesen auch nicht mögen.
- Du bist kein Freund der Polizei. Die Reihe folgt Peter Grant, einem londoner Polizisten, es ist also keine outlaws-against-the-oppressing-system Roman. Ehr das Gegenteil.
- Du bist kein Freund der Fantasie und hoffst auf realitätsnahe Polizeiarbeit. Wenn man davon absehen kann, dass sich diese Polizisten mit Zauberern, Feen, und ähnlichem beschäftigen, dann erscheint mir die Beschreibung ihrer Arbeit realitätsnah.
Wie immer gilt nehmt die Liste nur so ernst wie ihr wollt und wenn keiner dieser Gründe auf euch zutrifft: Leseempfehlung meinerseits.
