S. E. Hinton has such a unique way of writing and viewing the world, every time I read one of her books I feel like I haven’t truly grasped it yet.

Pretty decent as far as YA stuff goes. I read a lot of 60s/70s YA when I was younger because I wasn’t interested in the sci-fi/fantasy/paranormal/etc stuff of the 00s. They’re really not that different at heart, though. The dorky overwrought emotion is just the same. Anyway this is exactly what teen girls would have written if Wattpad existed in the 1960s. Moody bad boy greaser fan fiction stuff. This is fine for what it is. It made me nostalgic for other, better authors of the era (i.e. Judy Blume) that I read a lot in middle school.
