The third book in the Graves Glen series, and another cute read! This one follows the third Penhallow brother, Bowen, and brings back Tamsyn Bligh from the first book. Bowen hires Tamsyn to find magical artifacts for him, and they try to fight their tension and chemistry while they work together. Bowen’s secret past and Tamsyn’s job bring them together at a wedding, where unexplained magic and time travel happens, and they have to work together to figure out several problems and make it back to their present. The story and their chemistry was sooo entertaining, but the resolution at the end felt very sudden. The first 85% or even 90% was very good, super cute, witchy, spicy, fun, I loved it. But then that last little bit was like some stuff happened to let the book end without really having an explanation, just “magic does weird things.” I did still give the audiobook 4 stars because so much of the story was enjoyable, and because Mary Jane Wells is one of the most fun narrators I’ve listened to and really made the story sound great 😊

This has been it for me. The book with all the aspects I like in my easy feel-good reads. Coziness, whimsy, witches, love, slight historical-ish setting… it’s just a shame it ended so abruptly! It was almost like the author got fed up with the story so she DeusExMachined it and was done. But maybe I just wasn’t ready for the book to end?

Sooooo excited for book three, brother 3 of the Ex Hex fam. Rough and gruff Bowen Penhallow has taken hermit to the extreme. He's happiest in his far-flung cottage where he can go days without seeing another soul. Until he begins working with Tamsyn Bligh. Tamsyn works to acquire magical objects (and we have seen her before). Bowen has been working with Tamsyn on a project close to his heart, helping his friend Declan who is a ghost. They come together at a country house over Yule with Tamsyn retrieving a magical object and Bowen attending a wedding. But a spell gone awry has both stuck in 1957 trying to set something right. Will they make it home for their own happily ever after?
A fast-paced book that has our MCs falling equally hard but trying to respect boundaries. One or two hot scenes when they finally give up the ghost (pun -- sorry) of their reservations. Low stakes with swoony hearts.

I did not think I could get on board with the time travel thing but honestly it was cute and I had fun ☺️
While this book was fun and I enjoyed a lot of the characters, it made little sense and offered no explanation for the ending. You could blow the plot over with a sigh. How did they even meet if the future was changed and their reason for working together didn't exist??????? How?? This is why you need a banger idea to mess with time travel and not just here's a bow to go on top! Don't think about it at all!
