emotional lighthearted reflective

The last line of the About the Author page sums this up perfectly. " These poems riot against gun violence, homophobia and white supremacy while jubilating gender expansion, queer love, and the will to stay alive." I was brought to tears by two of these poems but they all made me take a moment and think.

This was just scrumptious. Having never heard of Andrea Gibson, I just became a lifelong fan. With our political climate of today, the poems ring just as true, if not more, as they did in 2018. Queer joy above it ALL. This book felt like a candlelit sleepover.

No one does love poems like Gibson does love poems.

Andrea Gibson never fails to write earth-shaking poetry that hits the reader right in the feels. 5/5!
