I adore this author and loved this first horror novel of hers! Be warned, she is excellent at painting a picture and there is a fair bit of gore. I'm very squeamish, though, and I still made it through!

There was completely a moment in there that the narrator had me terrified of what was going to happen next. It has been a while since I felt a sense of unease like that and I didn't mind it one bit! I can completely seeing it becoming a movie
