I did really enjoy the premise to this novel and it was a very quick read. It had some twists I didn't see coming and I enjoyed the connection to nature. However, the writing wasn't as strong as I would have liked. A lot of repetitive words to explain things and it seemed a bit choppy. Overall, I did enjoy this novel and would probably recommend if anyone wanted a quick October read.

Just, so overwrought. Could've made an interesting short story in the hands of a better writer. If this is your thing though it would be catnip. It is not for me. I was a danger to myself and others listening to this in the car because of all the exaggerated eyerolls I could not prevent myself from doing each time she beat another basic concept to death with copious internal monologue. I hate- finished it.
