so many plot twists

So many plot twists in this book! And that ending was absolutely amazing!! My only negative which is why it got 4 stars and not 5 was because I spend most of the book hating Persephone - she pretty much because the one thing she was trying to hate and punish. I understand her growing into her powers ect but I just personally feel she because very childish in this book and deliberately set out to hurt people she claimed to love all because she couldn’t think of anyone but herself - which is exactly what she has called the gods out for. I do understand the reasoning for this though and was glad to see the character growth by the end of the book.

Overall it was a very good storyline.

Still a great story. However, I wish Persephone would stop fighting against herself and being a walking contradiction. She wants to be powerful and she has power, yet she refuses to use her power in the mortal world or announce herself as a goddess. She still makes blanket assumptions about the immortals despite finding out that things are not always as they seem. A lot more "naughty scenes" in this one! I continue to love Hades and the description of the Underworld and how it runs.
Looking forward to the third book!

Again this one is so good! I love them being together and Persephone working on herself and her magic! I did find Persephone and Hades were frustrating at times and again wished they would just communicate more!

I really enjoyed the first book but have enjoyed the second book so much more.  The story develops and continues on and doesn't loose out on interesting events like often happens in series where they end up happy together at the end of the first book. And of course, all the spice. Excited to start the next book in the series.

Rating: 3.5 STARS OUT OF 5!

Synopsis:
The second installment in the Hades X Persephone series by Scarlett St. Clair.

Review:
I loved the first book, A touch of Darkness. A touch of Ruin seemed a little bit lackluster. Persephone, who I loved in the first book, became a whiny brat by this second book. She whines and complains and acts like a toddler throwing a tantrum when she isn’t getting her way and she became such an annoying character. Which sucks because she’s the main character so we’re meant to love her. Hades does some things that piss her off and while they’re not right, she literally seeks revenge on the most childish ways. Then there’s Hades, I love Hades but for the God of the Dead, he seems to have no backbone when it comes to standing up to Persephone. He’s constantly meeting her every beck and call, apologizing for things he really doesn’t need to apologize for while she acts like a brat and hardly apologizes. I love Persephone being a strong protagonist but that doesn’t mean Hades has to be such a weakling. Not to mention, this book put me into a bit of a reading slump and took me 15 days to finish it! 15 DAYS!
