Boy, this was disappointing. Love the tv show, but the book? Whoa boy.

Okay first of all, it's only half a book. At around 135 pages, it's short. And it's not short because it's a whole story that is just short, it's short because it literally reads like half a book.

Why was a novel cut in half and published as two seperate novels? Ripping off consumers? I can only assume.

Second problem, it's clearly written by a man, because gosh Villanelle is terribly terribly aware of her breasts all the time. They're pert and perfect. And she has a lot of sex, because this is a lot of sad male fantasy fulfillment stuff going on.

Stick to the tv show.

I am glad that I watched the show first. If I had read the book first I would probably never watch killing eve. Eve and Villanelle are 2 dimensional characters in this book. Eve is not the woman I fell in love with. Not to mention the absolute sexist way in which she was written. *facepalm*

I read this book because I am completely enthralled with the show Killing Eve. It’s always difficult to read or watch something when you’re already familiar with the story, and in this case I’ve seen three seasons of Killing Eve already. The plot of this book is completely different.

The character of Villanelle is complete gold. She is a true psychopath and it’s incredible to get in her head. I loved the back story and being able to see her transformation into a trained assassin. I am interested in seeing where the story goes since it’s different from the show in some huge ways so far. Jodie Comer’s performance in the show as Villanelle is BRILLIANT, but I want to note that I had to take breaks from the book and the show because it can be disturbing, especially if you are empathic. Villanelle has no soul, which may be why I am fascinated by her.

L'auteur ne sait pas écrire les expositions, le style est pauvre, rien à mettre sous la dent. Les scènes sexuelles crues sans aucune raison...

DID NOT FINISH: 20%

The POV kept shifting right when I actually start to enjoy the stories... which instead of making me want to keep reading, just made me realize I wasn't enjoying the read so I stopped. I never got invested in the fate of either of the POV characters.

A more modern and more slick James Bond. Funny, dark, gripping.

I've watched Killing Eve and was devastated at the ending, so after taking to internet to have my feelings validated, I learned the books it is based off of have an ending more to my liking. So here I am, reading the trilogy to hopefully find my peace.

So, the rating is hard to give from how I'm coming at the stories. I don't think this is a type of book I would normally read due to genre, but I am enjoying it due to my prior attachment to the characters. With any plot differences, the general feeling of the characters has remained similar to the show, but I also think that is strongly influenced by my pre determined thoughts.
