For once, I actually think I preferred the drama on BBC. I think the book was good, it was quick paced and I love how well Jennings develops two powerful female characters, especially having a carefree female villain. However, I think the filming really leant to this kind of plot, with the evasiveness of Villanelle for example, it just felt better to have us recognise her (and Konstantin) during their various jaunts, rather than having to have them introduced in the book, removing the mystery somewhat.

This was a fun, beachy read—as sumptuous in its descriptions of weaponry as of fashion. I wish I’d actually been on a beach while reading. Anyway, it’s tiding me over nicely while waiting for the return of Killing Eve...

Wow, when I realised that Killing Eve was based on a book series, I immediately stopped watching the programme, preferring to enjoy the book first and I'm glad I did. Codename Villanelle is a fast-paced thriller which I couldn't put down and finished in one sitting. Can't wait for No Tomorrow. 4 stars

A fun read, but not as good as the show (yes, you read that right). Jody Comer brings more to Villanelle than Jennings has. Still recommended for Killing Eve fans but not a must-read.

I’m definitely biased bc I watched the show first and am in love with Jodie Comer and am a huge fan of Sandra Oh. This book didn’t hit the way I wanted it too, too many names were different and I didn’t feel like I got to know the characters at all. I’ll still give the series a shot but idk I think the best thing that happened to these characters was Jodie and Sandra tbh.
