I watched Killing Eve on BBC with my husband. We loved the show. I was so excited to read the book! Well, that feeling didn't last. I thought the book was boring. SO BORING. Sex scenes = boring. The murders = boring! I can't remember a time when I thought the tv or movie was BETTER than the book. That being said I will probably read the other books. Just to be able to compare to the tv show.

Interesting book about Eve, the thoughtful multi-layered British investigator, and Vilanelle (real, birth name Oksana); the book is the basis for the hit show, Killing Eve. The final third of the book has a crisp, moving pace like many thrillers; the book is short, and overall, it moves quickly. Although I am a decent James Bond fan, this book bothered me on a few levels. There are a few action scenes, where the momentum just stops. Vilanelle has fierce intelligence, but no other even slightlty interesting, and definitely NO redeeming qualities. There is also some bad Bond movie dialogue, and more than a few drops of designer names in clothing. Which get a slittle tiresome at time. (Overll score: 3.3-3.7)

Nah, not for me. It felt too loose for my taste. However, it made me appreciate the TV series for the way it composes the characters and for how quickly it sets up the premise.

Fun palet cleanser, too much weapon and street names but still enjoyable:)

lmao trying to fill the hole left by laura neal but it’s not working

I read it after watching the show

I think having read this first, I’d possibly be annoyed at the author’s honest obsession with talking about all the sex Villanelle gets up to. However, having watched the TV show first and therefore Jodie Comer’s excellent performance permeating through how I read Villanelle, I was willing to put up with that. I do dislike when men fetishise women and sex and what turns them on. The rest of it was pretty good! Enjoyed seeing parallels between the book and what they took into the show. Enjoyed the back and forth between the two London intelligence bodies either side of the river; there’s the same suggestions in John ale Carré’s The Night Manager and makes me think.. is it really like that!? I even learned a few new words.

Hilariouslzy male written. It has cringe moments but it's an easy and fast read thats absolutely ok.

I don’t know why I continue to put my trust in men who write women characters…… shame on me
