i have soooo much more admiration for phoebe waller bridge after reading this book. how an earth did she create a masterpiece from a subpar book??? 2.5 ⭐️
I did this the wrong way around - reading the books AFTER seeing the TV show so it was less a case of my own imagination and picturing the characters but basing everything from what I'd seen.
That being said, I still enjoyed the books and I can definitely see where the inspiration came from

Well, the show's infinitely better than the book.
I'd say the book is adequately entertaining, but say that I never watched the show before the rating would be even lower.
Of course I didn't expect the book to be the same with the show, but I guess watching the show helped me get through this book easily because it's kind of bleak. I enjoy the action parts of it, and the spy work but I feel unengaged with the characters.
I'll stick around and read the next one because from what I've read on the internet it seems like there's a "happy" ending for Villanelle and Eve and I'd rather have that than the plot they botched after PWB left Killing Eve :(

Listened to this just to get a killing eve fix and didn’t expect it to 1) be so similar to the show and 2) to be so wonderfully written! I think even if you didn’t know the show at all that you would enjoy.
