That's the review. That's all I felt reading this. Addiction is a tricky topic for me. So most of this book wasn't enjoyable to me, but I already knew it wouldn't be. I think I'll finally take that break because I don't even want to pick up the next book haha I just feel so angry
Oh Joey I just I want to hug you. He didn't deserve that. He's just a kid. But Aoife didn't deserve half of the things that happened to her. She was just a kid as well. I hate her parents. I hate her brother. I hated every time Shane appeared. I had to close my book.
Paul can fall in a ditch (and take his brother and father). Kind of felt bad for Danielle, but then going by what she said I'm guessing she's just going to do something in the next book. I tried to be forgiving with Marie because violence is a cycle, but I couldn't. Her words and her behaviour towards Joey were infinitely despicable for me. The boy who stayed and was kinder to her than anyone else around, got the harshest words from her. I 100% get the resentment towards Darren, but then again Darren was also just a kid. I don't even know.

I am finding this series very easy to read, and near impossible to put down. It’s written in such a way that you can still love the characters despite their flaws. Joey’s story is something I think a lot of people have gone through, and it’s very interesting to see his perspective this time instead of Shannon’s. It’s unrealistic in parts and yet so real in its emotion.
