WOWZA so so good! Cried a lot at the end but starting the second book now so it’s ok!
the book was a compelling read, though not without its flaws. the two protagonists, joe and molloy, are well written, but their complexities can leave readers divided. joe’s pain is palpable, and while his inability to express his emotions makes him difficult to understand both for readers and for molloy it also makes him relatable. his struggles feel raw and authentic, even if his actions are hard to justify.
molloy, on the other hand, is portrayed as compassionate and patient, but her unwavering hope for joe to change becomes frustrating at times. the message is clear, change has to come from within, and chasing someone who pushes you away rarely ends well. overall, it is a strong book with emotionally charged characters and a storyline that keeps you hooked. worth the read.
