i wish i had more to say about this book….other than it just is

i felt no connection to rachel, or the established world - i only really liked borne, who is a titular character that i didn’t feel took on that big role.

i really wish there was more to this, and i think the biggest failure was i found the main character one dimensional. reading her perspective felt like trudging through mud, and it made connections to everything else lackluster.

Strange and unique. After reading complaints of pacing I nearly skipped Borne, as my attention span is lacking. However, I found this story to be engaging and beautifully written. While It is unlikely you will identify closely with the narrator, her life or her people, the creativity and originality is well worth the read. I highly recommend for any reader interested in a tale dissimilar to all else.

This is one of the most unique stories I've ever read, set in a bizarre post apocalyptic world where biotech has taken over and humanity is tearing itself apart. I found myself relishing every detail in this world, whether it be weird or grotesque or strangely endearing. I loved it all. There were vast swaths of this book that I had no idea where it was going or what was going to happen. And that is exhilarating to me. I highly recommend this book to anyone up for something new and weird and unpredictable.
