I hated how it started because I don't want anyone to have to go through what Mark did.

Josh sees Mark and he just knows his life is never going to be the same. I liked how he struggled with his feelings because if he had been oh its all fine and dandy I would have wanted to throw the book away.

But he didn't and he had to take time, and so did Mark he needed time to come to terms with what happened to him but also to see that he had true feeling for Josh.

Good narration for this one too!
Now I want Dakota's story.

3.5. I had a hard time with the grown men "giggling" all the time but I did like Josh

This was pretty good, and Greg Boudreaux is always excellent. But the end was sooo anticlimactic.

Mark and Josh were cute together. I really felt bad for Josh and it really was very odd to start being attracted to someone who you then had to watch get horribly raped. I mean...I'm glad Mark saved him and still liked him and all that but it was just a very odd first sighting and then first meeting. I liked how they decided to take it slow together and then did everything else besides put the p in the b like...right after lololololol

The whole shootout at the end felt like it came out of nowhere. The author needed a reason to get the military gang together to set up the next story and it turned from a book semi about recovery to a huge shootout and enemies dying. Just...didn't flow together. Writing was better than the last book but not by much.

If u want a quick senseless read then I would suggest this but it was too easy to pick apart and judge lol

I have to admit that I'm not seeing what others obviously are in this series. I read this because it was part of my challenge for this year, but I struggled through it to be honest.

Like the first one, I had trouble connecting with the MC's. I found their "voices" unrealistic. Josh is supposed to be a battle-hardened assassin, yet he comes across as sappy and sickening sweet. Mark, a doctor has been kidnapped and brutally raped for three months, yet this seems to have very little impact on his behaviours after he gets rescued.

It's again a GFY, which I usually love, but the amount of sex... especially with Mark's history and Josh never having been with a man? Sorry, but very unrealistic!

So overall, this was rather a disappointment, and I think I better just give up on this series...

3.5 stars. Enjoyed the story but this book is at times confusing. It needs some editing.
